week 3
Another week gone and it's still Christmas! Or is it? The paint on the walls is beginning to crack and fade, with especially large chunks in character's bedrooms revealing scratched words like "cantgetoutcantgetout" and "god help me i just want to go home i miss my home i miss my mother i miss" etc. Yikes! The locations page might be updated throughout the week as characters discover more. Seems like now's the perfect time to investigate and hope you'll get closer to finding out what's going on here. There's always more places to look and more things to find!
As a reminder that this week's activity check is now live! And as usual, it's never a bad time to submit threads for regains! Have you been naughty or nice? Naughty children still get presents too, don't worry. And if you'd like to check-in on Thursday night, you always can! You never know what fun you might run into.
So go exploring, find something new and pay no mind to the creepy writing on the walls. We're sure everything will be fine! After all, nothing ever goes wrong on Christmas, right?

No... not my precious pantry!
[ Thug Dangerzone can be found running from the kitchen to the pantry with a garbage bag, trying to clean up all the stuff that's suddenly gone rotten overnight. ]
How am I supposed to cook like this??

That's disgusting! I don't want to kill people with my food.

[IT'S POSSIBLE HE FEELS BAD ABOUT ALL THIS . . .]

Puffer fish, called fugu in Japanese, is a delicacy that when prepared correctly, is extremely delicious. The liver, which is the most poisonous, is also the tastiest part. [ Thanks, Wikipedia. ] But you need over three years of training before you're allowed to even touch the stuff! I haven't had nearly enough training for that, never mind rotten meat!

[ Obviously. ]
I guess I could try fermenting some of these things... [ That seems to improve his mood a little! ] Ooh, or I could bury them! Did you know, in Iceland, they bury rotten shark that's made by putting a gutted shark into a hole in the sand for 6-12 weeks? It's called hákarl and it is a delicacy!

[ He's gonna have to follow the Inuit's lead and bury some stuff in the snow, but that's cool. ]
I mean, worst case, there's canned beans in here, right? And I think pumpkin for making pie...

Ooh, maybe there's hot dogs!

Oh, for pity's sake! What are we expected to do for food now?
Not to mention everything else that seems to be decaying lately... [Grumbles of concern and irritation.]

[ Plus they went bad overnight?? Don't blame poor Thug. ]

Alright then, what are Brasco and the Princess in charge of?
no subject
[ I think Starshine would disagree. ]
no subject
Brasco? Are you certain about that?

Does this happen every time, Thug?
[Oh goodness. She doesn't know how much of this she can handle!]
no subject
Not always... It's never happened overnight like this before.

What does it mean? There are many other changes in the house as well--pleas for help from others that once stayed here, scraps of paper hinting toward a great evil.
no subject
[ No kidding, Thug. No kidding. ]
no subject
You don't know? [A slight frown of thought.] Thug... how many groups of guests have you seen come through this place?
no subject
This is... like I said, it's the first time it's happened this fast.
