week 3
Another week gone and it's still Christmas! Or is it? The paint on the walls is beginning to crack and fade, with especially large chunks in character's bedrooms revealing scratched words like "cantgetoutcantgetout" and "god help me i just want to go home i miss my home i miss my mother i miss" etc. Yikes! The locations page might be updated throughout the week as characters discover more. Seems like now's the perfect time to investigate and hope you'll get closer to finding out what's going on here. There's always more places to look and more things to find!
As a reminder that this week's activity check is now live! And as usual, it's never a bad time to submit threads for regains! Have you been naughty or nice? Naughty children still get presents too, don't worry. And if you'd like to check-in on Thursday night, you always can! You never know what fun you might run into.
So go exploring, find something new and pay no mind to the creepy writing on the walls. We're sure everything will be fine! After all, nothing ever goes wrong on Christmas, right?

This is bad. If Thug Dangerzone is getting killed, things are seriously bad...
But even beyond that thought, seeing Thug like this stings horribly. Thug was...harmless. Dumb as all hell, but ultimately harmless. He had faith in Shintaro.
Another let down, another person he couldn't protect. Shintaro pounds his fists into the floor before yelling out:]
Starshine! Brasco!
Someone help...!
[Holding back tears and vomit (isn't he always?) he inspects the body for any other clues, because that's what Kantera, or Lena would do instead of just crying and hurting himself.]

What's up, man?
[He'd been in the kitchen, poking around for mac and cheese (because that won't rot, ever) or maybe a twinkie (definitely never gonna rot), but he hears the scream. And boy, somebody else is probably dead, which is a shame, because he likes this crop, he really does. He doesn't ever want anyone to die, of course, but he's grown rather desensitized to it. So he expects Shintaro (but when had he gotten access to their rooms?) to be crouching over-- oh, Jack, maybe, or Dorian, or . . . someone.
Not Thug.
Not him.
All the color drains from his cheeks, and for the first time in three weeks, Brasco looks horrified. Not just irritated or mildly upset, but shocked. His breathing has gone sharp, and for a moment it seems as though he might panic.
But no. No. He won't-- no.]
That's--
[An unsteady inhale and exhale.]
Fine. That's fine, that's . . . cool. Fine. Great. That's just fine. Fantastic.

Stop pretending! He wasn't one of ours, he was one of yours!
You looked the other way when I lost Diana, and Lena, and everyone else!
[Shakeshake!!]
I liked him, and he's gone. He's gone because, because you guys...
You wouldn't...
[Sniffle...He doesn't want to do this. He doesn't want to yell anymore. This sucks. This sucks.]

[He says it flatly, something distant in his gaze. He's muscled enough that Shintaro's shakes don't move him much, and so he lets the boy do as he likes.]
I told you: there's nothing we can do. There's no cavalry, there's no police, there's no justice. We've just gotta--
[He won't look down at Thug.]
--keep going.

Look at what happened to your friend! O-Our friend!
You can't just––You can't just keep letting them get away with it!
