WEEK 4 (FINAL WEEK)

This week doesn't feel quite like the others somehow. Maybe it's the fact that you've unlocked the attic, or the fact that so many people have died and bled inside these walls, but hey, at least it's still Christmas! Or is it? The house is starting to gather dust, and the more you look around, the more weird holiday decorations seem to pop up. The paint on the walls is getting cracked and faded, with those ominous words appearing not just in characters' bedrooms, but in the rest of the house as well. Now is the time to investigate since the third floor has been added and the creepiness is seemingly ramping up to a crescendo.

I mean, I'm sure everything's fine, right?

There's also no activity check since this is now endgame week! Congratulations, you made survivor pool! We'll have more information on endgame in the days to come, but for now, relax and enjoy the sweet smell of not-dying. There's still time to submit threads for regains. Have you been naughty or nice? Naughty children still get presents too, don't worry. And if you'd like to check-in on Thursday night, you always can! You never know what fun you might run into.

So go exploring, find something new and figure out where to go from here! Whether it's a Christmas miracle or a holiday hell, that's all up to you!

[ She's opted to wait until the morning time, since Elizabeth definitely doesn't want to be outside when it's dark. Honestly she's not super sure where to start, so... How about she checks the foundation of the house for anything? Spaces, perhaps, to crawl under... ]

[ That's definitely the safest option! However, the foundations of the house seem sturdy there's not really any room to crawl through, but Elizabeth is pretty small, so maybe she can wing it? ]

[Jack is supposed to be looking out for her, and while he's a paranoid, sleep-deprived mess...he does best when he has something to focus on. So when he notices Elizabeth wandering outside in the morning, he groans to himself and follows. With his candy cane cane, just in case.]

Elizabeth, what the hell? Something's gonna eat you, probably...we got ghosts and all kinds of bullshit going on....

[Why is she out here poking at the bottom of the house?!?]

[Lunafreya is in the kitchen when the both of them leave the house, and hearing the door open twice in succession, she has to follow. What if the second person leaving was stalking the first to try and kill them? There's been no motive given yet, but after 17 and Henry chose to murder just because they were bored...

Luckily, that doesn't seem to be the case as she comes upon Elizabeth and Jack.]

[ With the three of them, they can probably tell there isn't much of use under the house.

[ Thank god there are no bodies under the house. Elizabeth turns to her companions. ]

Oh, Jack, Miss Fleuret... I'll be fine, I'm sure. [ She's not alone, now. ] It's just that I received messages last night, and they spoke about a graveyard. I thought, perhaps, I could try and find it.

There seems to be nothing beneath the house... The woods are my next guess. Would you like to join me?

Well obviously if you're screwing off to the woods, I'm gonna go with you.

[At this point it's not like it's any better or worse than staying in the house.]

A message? Like one of those ghostly wall messages? I had one of those, too. Talked with the dead nun. Apparently there's a lotta cats in...the afterlife or whatever.

Maybe you outta be looking for paw prints.

It seems as though several of us received those messages. I spoke with Kantera--he mentioned the cats too.

There is safety in numbers. If you mean to go into the woods to look for a graveyard, we ought to search as a group.

[After all, they still don't know if a certain someone is out there...]

[ The Woods are lonely, dark and deep... Just kidding, you guys went out during the day so at the very least it's not as creepy as it would be at night!

There are two paths into the Woods, though. One leads out from the shed (you may want to ask Chuuya about that one,) and the other leads further in. Looks like the best thing is to head in deeper! ]

Mr. Dangerzone didn't mention cats, it was mostly just the graveyard... [ She looks between the paths, then turns to her companions. ] Shall we head in deeper?

I mean, probably not, but we're gonna. We know it ain't by the shed.

If we mean to find answers, we must traverse all roads. [ Which is to say lead on, Elizabeth! Lunafreya steps toward the path, ready to press forward with the others. ]

[ The path leads to a clearing where several trees have been cut down... in a circle. A really big circle.

The area surrounded by tree stumps is covered in what looks like freshly plowed ground. Some kind of garden, perhaps...? ]

[ A strange rustling can be heard if anybody's hanging out by the fireplace in the foyer. Are those decorations moving...? Better take a closer look! ]

sure, chuuya will go get a closer look at this... at least the fireplace is nearby if anything needs an emergency burning.]

[ What should appear behind the decorations but, a cat! It's not a cat any of you would recognize, and in fact it almost seems like its feet are translucent... very strange. You'd think someone would have noticed if the house had cats.

Regardless of its origins, the cat runs off toward the stairs, up to the second floor. Better follow it! ]

he follows without much thought, trying to stick close to it.]

[Chuuya isn't the only one that notices a cat suddenly running by, and as he notices Chuuya going after it, Shintaro jogs up to his side.]

[ If you think it's a ghost cat, you'll have to keep following it to find out!

The cat makes a quick dash into Room 4, the former sleeping quarters of Arai and Rosalind. It's the Presents Room! Don't worry, I'm sure neither of them will mind if you guys go snooping in there. ]

[he doesn't glance over to shintaro, but that's mostly because he's focused on the cat to make sure it doesn't go anywhere.

when it runs into room 4, he doesn't hesitate to go on in-- he's pretty sure that yeah, dead people won't mind if they have a look around-- though he'll wait a moment to see if the cat's going anywhere specific in here.]

[Shintaro will stand in the doorway, making sure that the cat can't get out without going through him.]

[ You'll have trouble catching this kitty, Shintaro. The cat meows, jumping onto the bed and then fleeing into the closet! Except the closet is actually closed, so it's more accurate to say the cat phases into the closet.

So that's a thing. ]

Ghost cats. Sure. Why the fuck wouldn't there be ghost cats.
